The White Pass Scenic Byway, US Highway 12 is located in south central Washington State, about halfway between Puget Sound and the Columbia River.

The western portal to the byway is near the communities of Centralia and Chehalis. From the west, the byway journey begins at Exit 68 on the I-5 Corridor.

The eastern portal is near Yakima, the largest city in central Washington. From the east, the journey begins at Naches where US Highway 410 intersects with the White Pass Scenic Byway. The byway is 124 miles of rural, two-lane highway. It has been designated as a highway of statewide significance and is also one of three year-round passes over the Cascade Mountain range.

Welcoming visitors to our gateway communities along the White Pass Scenic Byway, find our brand new interpretive panels located at key visitor locations along the route.  You will soon find them in the communities of Mossyrock, Salkum, Morton, Packwood, the White Pass Ski Resort and Naches.  The panels tell a little bit about the communities and their services, the points of interest along the byways as well as providing a detailed map of the corridor.  While on the road, take some time to learn a little more about the changing landscapes of the White Pass Scenic Byway!
