Cowlitz Falls Lavender Co. is quietly located in the heart of Randle, situated in the foothills of the Cascade Mountais and within 25 aerial miles of Mount St. Helens. Mount Lawetlat’la, “the smoker,” as it is known to the Cowlitz, is an active stratovolcano that helped prepare the ground used to grow lavender. The pumice present in the soil helps aid in drainage; some areas are as thick as four feet below a foot of topsoil.
The farm is surrounded by many adventures for the outdoor explorer. Local attractions include many campgrounds, Lake Scanewa, which is only a few miles from the farm, and the mighty Cowlitz River, not to mention hundreds of miles of forest roads to explore.
