From Morton, travel north 30 miles through scenic forestlands on the Mountain Highway to the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. This year-round entrance leads to the historic Longmire and provides access to Paradise. Along the way stop at the picturesque community of Mineral. A photo of Mount Rainier with Mineral Lake in the foreground is not to be missed on a clear day. A loop trip is recommended by traveling to Paradise and returning via the Steven’s Canyon Entrance back to Morton.
