Mount Rainier National Park via Nisqually Entrance

From Morton, travelers can enjoy a scenic 30-mile drive north through forested landscapes to the Nisqually Entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. This year-round entrance provides access to the historic Longmire area and continues upward to Paradise, one of the park’s most iconic destinations. The drive itself is part of the experience, with towering evergreens, winding mountain roads, and frequent pullouts for photos.

Along the way, visitors pass through the picturesque community of Mineral, where clear-day views of Mount Rainier rising above Mineral Lake create a memorable photo opportunity. Many travelers choose to complete a loop trip by continuing to Paradise and returning via the Stevens Canyon Entrance, eventually circling back to Morton. This route combines scenic travel, outdoor adventure, and access to one of Washington’s most celebrated natural landmarks, making it a highlight of the White Pass Scenic Byway.
